Ann Algie has a passion for encouraging people to express themselves creatively, particularly through the medium of the written word. She helps dissolve the barriers of self-limiting beliefs though a process of challenge, fun, and focussed engagement in writing. She believes everyone can be creative - they just need a little help to begin.

She has qualifications in teaching adults in further education, a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and a certificate in counselling.

She has attended courses with Nathalie Goldberg and Hay House Publishing. In 2018 she self-published a children's book called The Prince Who Listened. She has also published two short self-help e-books and is currently working on a book to support socially isolated young men.

Ann is fortunate to be a member of an international writing group. Nine writers meet monthly via Zoom to discuss their work, providing each other with supportive criticism and encouragement.

She has a YouTube channel Simpler Living about how to live a simpler life and life in France.

Ann has a varied working background, beginning when she left college at 17 to work as a medical secretary before starting a 10 year career as a nurse and midwife. She went on to teach Psychology in a college of further education and several community development roles followed - in both a paid and a voluntary capacity. This has provided her with rich experience to draw upon when writing and working with people from a variety of backgrounds.
